Packard Automotive Co. Photo Department
While researching other Detroit building history we came across an interesting discovery. The Packard Automobile Co. had a Photo Department. It always makes you wonder what each room in that 3.5 million sq ft factory was used for.
Detroit native Herman Krieger spent the earlier part of his life as a Detroit photographer. He started as a photo clerk (Fromms, on Woodward Ave, Highland Park) and then landed a job at the Packard Automotive Plant in their photo department.
In his bio he sites this as the location of the photo department at the plant.

We dug through some of our archives and found a few images of the “photo department”

Outside of this really cool fact Herman shares his life in Detroit on his webpage Bio Herman Krieger Its defiantly worth checking out
